Bought her off TradeMe and she's pink and white and has a stand! Pink and white! Like my long sold Miami, before leaving for London (although I am assured she is in good hands now and will see her @ Camp A Low Hum). Can't contain excitement. More pix to come once she arrives!

Totally lusting over this green and brown combo @ Biascagne Cicli, after finding a sweet 10 speed in the exact same colour down the road. Been looking at some nice Browns leather seats and bown handlebar tape to match, but here's my inspiration.

One of my pet hates is having to wear a helmet in New Zealand while cycling. I know NZ drivers are retards and can't handle sharing the road, that and our roads are crazy hilly AND people only seem to cycle when racing or going mountain biking. Neither of which apply to me.

So there's my rant. Onto the solution! Bike Helmets That Don't Suck. I grabbed a few cheapies from the recycle shop down the road and have started to play around with spray painting them and making my own templates. They look mental crap but once I get the template down I rekon I could totally upgrade to ones that don't look like I'm about to do a triathalon.

And as Karl Lagerfeld says, "it's ugly, it doesn't match anything, but it can save your life."

I'm such a sucker for pink and white. Such a perfect combination for a bike. She has two stickers, that say 'Ammico' and 'Miami'. Miami is such the perfect name for her, but I just cant bring myself to name her that because my first ever bike was called Miami and I just don't think it would be fair to name another.

So, in the spirit of Sweet Valley High, I've named her Lila, after Lila Fowler. Because I remember in the books she used to wear purple eyeshadow and was the baddie. But also popular.

I've taken off her wheels and rusty basket carrier and am currently researching the best way to adapt her...

RIP Escada - my first bike when I landed in London. Basket, fully functioning brakes, gleaming white, what more could a girl ask for.

Stupidly left it outside overnight in Shoreditch and the next morning, when I went to pick her up on my morning run... gone.

It was love at first sight with Felicity and I - she, a single bike of one, sitting abandoned at the back of Te Omanga Hospice, Upper Hutt, and me, a lonely ex pat who longed for the days when bikes were simple and didn't have a million and one gadgets.

She's in ok shape - her brakes are ok, seats a bit uncomfortable, and light has yet to work but I rekon she'll be a beauty by the time summer rides around Oriental Bay ride around...

Not bad for my first significant other since Escada in London.

My first ever fixie! Bought her off TradeMe, and then took her into The Bike Hutt and had her handle bars altered to a flat style.

Mike @ The Bike Hutt then added these sweet red and black grips to match the frame and I popped the bell on after getting a few for Christmas from my little brother.
